The IAAF World Athletics Day willl be held in Bermuda on May 18, 2013 . Everyone is invited to particpate, starting from age 4. Registration is $7.00. You can pick up registration forms at BNAA's office or the Sportseller. This fun filled day of track and field events, food and a kiddy land will be hosted by Flyers Track Club and admission is FREE. Come out, enjoy and celebrate with us on this day! |

This event kicked off with a banquet on Friday evening, April 26, 2013 with 3-time WNBA MVP and 4-time Olympic gold medal winner, Lisa Leslie as the guest speaker. On Saturday, April 27, 2013 this event continued with a 1 mile young girl's race at 8:45am and a 5k run/walk at 9:00am and concluded with an Expo from 12:00 to 6:00pm. The following speakers were local and international elite athletes at the Expo: Arantxa King (Bermuda long jump Olympian), Paula Lewin (Bermuda sailing Olympian), Jessica Lewis (Bermuda Paralympian), Jenaya Wade-Fray (Bermuda basketball Olympian), Teresa Perrozi (Bermudian middleweight world boxing Champion), Branwen Smith-King (Asst. Director of Athletics at Tufts University), Anjali Forber Pratt (American Paralympian), Pauline Davis Thompson (Bahamas track Olympic gold medalist, Chrissie Wellington (English ironman triathlon World Champion). |
